AMBIENT LIGHT
Ambient Lights, also called, Interior lighting, panel lighting and ambient lighting.
Every automaker does ambient lighting differently and uniquely. Some are subtle, like in some Nissan, Kia, and other Asian cars. At the other end of the spectrum, there are systems that can get very bright, like in new Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Porsche. More expensive vehicles even have the ability to illuminate the interior in two colors at once. Then there are newer Mercedes cars, which can slowly change the color of the cabin as you drive.
The feature uses interior lights mounted around the cabin to enhance the design and perhaps even calm the driver and passengers. In addition to the footwells, some lighting systems often illuminate the door and dashboard, cup holders, climate control vents and speaker surrounds. Some cars offer the ability to customize the color of the ambient lighting, and some even allow the lighting to pulse in time with the audio system for added customizability.
